Barry Silver
Barry B. Silver has been a practicing attorney since 1964. His areas of concentration include criminal, corporate defense, matrimonial and family law. He has tried cases on both the Federal and State level. He has tried cases in New Jersey, Florida and has had hearings not only in local court, but as far away as Saco, Maine.
He was the lead trial attorney for the Eastern State Gasoline Retailers Associates and has also served for several years as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Newburgh. He was instrumental in drafting the present Municipal Housing Code for the City of Newburgh. While Assistant Corporation Counsel, he represented both the City of Newburgh Zoning Board and Planning Board.
Mr. Silver graduated form the University of Buffalo School of Law with awards in Legal Draftsmenship and as part of the Indigent Prisoner Defense Organization. He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, New York and the United States Federal Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern District of New York.
He is married and he and his wife, Sheila, have 5 children, all of whom are products of the Newburgh School System.
