An ignition interlock device (IID) is an alcohol detection system that drivers blow into prior to starting the vehicle. If any alcohol is detected, the vehicle will not start. IIDs usually cost about $100 to install, and service charges can easily cost hundreds of dollars more per month, especially for multiple cars.
The only way to avoid the need to install and maintain an IID on your vehicle following a DWI arrest is to avoid the DWI conviction itself or to give up your vehicle.
We have handled more than 1,000 DWI cases and are highly skilled at investigating cases and contesting charges based on your rights as a driver. We have succeeded in having DWI charges dismissed in numerous instances, resulting in the avoidance of all legal penalties, including the need to install an IID.
